All Youth – Tonight! – Wednesday, September 1st, 6:30-10:00PM – John Reuben Concert – $5
John Reuben is playing at Grace University tonight, and all youth are invited! This will take the place of Middle School Youth Group. We will meet at the church at 6:30PM and return by 10PM AT THE VERY LATEST. The concert is scheduled to run until 9:30, but there is a good chance that the music will end before then. If so, we will return to the church even earlier. (We know that it’s a school night…but hey, it’s John Reuben for 5 bucks!)

High School – No Youth Group this Sunday
Because Mike will be gone at Lifelight Festival (along with many of you), youth group will not meet this Sunday.

Middle School – Wednesday, September 8th, 6:30-8:00PM – Gross Night
Since many people were out of town last month, we rescheduled Gross Night for September 8th. Make sure you wear grubby clothes, because we’re going to get messy!

All Youth – Sunday, September 12th, 4:30-8:30PM – Lake Party
It’s time for our annual all-ages lake party! Join us for an evening of swimming, volleyball, and plenty of FREE food. All you need to bring is a modest bathing suit and all of your friends. Click here to download a flyer you can print off and share with your friends.

High School – Friday, September 17th – Overtime
On September 17th, we’re having our first Overtime! It’s a post-game pizza party offering free food and fun to students looking for a place to hang out after the North vs South football game at Buell Stadium. Look for more details next week – this is an outreach event, so students, we’re going to need your help!

Fall has arrived at Kids 4 Jesus with children returning and new classes being formed. We will welcome all new and current families to our new program year. We still have some openings and would love referrals. Contact us at 895-2193.

An Open House/Book Fair was held on Thursday, August 26, for all preschool and toddler parents to meet the teachers and see the classrooms. We hope you have had a chance to visit the fishbowl, Room 1 and 2 to see our completed murals. Thanks to staff member Sandra Nimmo who drew and painted and church member Lori E. who assisted in the painting for the fantastic murals.

Our garden has been bountiful this summer and we have enjoyed sharing our vegetables with all. They have been eaten at meals by our children and sent home with families. As the days pass, the children are watching the pumpkins each day and anticipating really big ones by October.

During Bible Time, the preschoolers are acting out their favorite bible stories before we begin the new program year. We are having lots of fun with the dramatic play. Toddlers are doing crafts in connection with their bible stories…we put lots of animals in our arks.

As the fall days unfold, we look forward to meeting the new families and see the children grow emotionally, academically and spiritually each day.

Blessings,
Sandi Stuckey

Mike Harvat, Worship and Student Ministries Director

Even though we still have a good month of summer left, our fall program is in full swing! This semester, we are taking a closer look at 1 Corinthians 13, often referred to as “The Love Chapter.” We will be studying God’s definition of love as expressed in scripture, and we will discuss what it means to love God, ourselves, and others.

In addition to Bible Study, we are offering a number of events for fun and outreach. One such event is Overtime, a post-game pizza party offering free food and fun to students looking for a place to hang out after selected football games at Buell Stadium. Our first Overtime will take place on September 17th, so mark your calendars – you’re going to be hearing a lot more about this soon!

And since I don’t do it often enough, I want to express my gratitude to everyone who supports this ministry! Thank you so much for volunteering to help with youth events, supporting our fundraisers, donating food for get-togethers, opening your homes, and most importantly, praying for our students. We desire to see every young person enter into a relationship with Jesus Christ, and at Community Covenant Church, it starts with our kids.

Living Proof Live
Tickets are available at Parables or online: http://www.itickets.com/events/248504.html

Thank You!
Thanks to all the women who came Wednesday evening for the card making! You are an incredible group of talented gals! We all had a great time and at the end of the evening, we had made 53 cards! A special thank you to Nancy P for her help in putting this together. Gals of CCC, aka M&M’s, what next?! Thank you again! -Yvonne

Celebration Covenant Church is located directly on the northwest corner of 168th and Giles.

High School Youth – No Youth Group This Sunday
Because of Rally Day and the Dare2Share event, we will not have regular youth group this Sunday.

All Youth – Wednesday, September 1st, 6:30-10:00PM – John Reuben Concert – $5
John Rebuen is playing at Grace University next Wednesday, and all youth are invited!

All Youth – Youth Calendar Available this Sunday
The September youth calendar will be made available this weekend. Look for it in your inbox, on the web, or in its physical form at Church on Sunday. (Sarah, just a few more days until you know when we’re having Gross Night!)

Middle School – No Youth Group Tonight
