Youth Update (Youth Sunday, High School Youth Group & New Study)

All Youth – Youth Sunday – February 14th
The youth are taking over the worship service this Sunday! Most of the spots are filled, but if you want to participate, it’s not too late! Here’s what we have left:

  • Invocation & Lord’s Prayer
  • Special Music
  • Offertory
  • Soundbooth

To sign up, simply let Mike now (text, e-mail, Facebook, phone call…anything works!).

High School – Dinner & A Movie – February 14th, 5-8 PM
Our regular High School Youth Group finally resumes this Sunday. In addition to dinner, we’re watching a movie this time! Invite a friend…

High School – New Study Begins February 14th
We will also begin a new study based on the book Crazy Love by Francis Chan. Students are urged to pick up their own copy so that they can read a chapter for each week’s lesson. Mike will be making a run to Parables late this week; if you’d like him to pick one up for you, let him know. They’re about $12 each. For more information about Crazy Love, please visit http://www.crazylovebook.com

Spiritual Mardi Gras – Tuesday, February 16th, 7 PM

Community Covenant Church has been asked to bring 15 dozen cookies to the Spiritual Mardi Gras celebration on Tuesday evening, February 16. If you are able to bring 1-3 dozen, please call the church office and let us know. This is an evening of celebration with other area churches at St. Stephen the Martyr beginning at 7 PM. Please plan to attend this service to begin preparing for the Lenten season!

Youth Update (Calendar, Fundraising, Youth Sunday, etc.)

Hey everyone! Click here to download the youth calendar for February, and read below for few announcements related to upcoming events…

High School – Pizza Fundraiser Prep Work – This Saturday, 6 PM
We will be preparing for Sunday’s pizza fundraiser on Saturday night (dough prep, pre-baking, topping prep, etc.). Participating students will be responsible for purchasing some of the toppings, so if you plan to help, please let Mike know ahead of time;  he will give you your topping assignments. (If you could bring a rolling pin with you on Saturday, that would help, too!)

High School – No Youth Group – This Sunday
Due to the Superbowl and the pizza fundraiser after church, we will not have regular youth group this Sunday.

All Youth – Youth Sunday – February 14th
We are taking over the entire service! We need people to read, pray, speak, sing and play in the praise team, and perform special music. If you wish to participate, there will be sign-up sheets available during Sunday School this week. Don’t miss out!

High School – Powderburn Ski Trip – February 18th-21st
Hopefully everyone saw the previous e-mail about the change in departure time. We are now meeting at First Covenant at 6 PM on Thursday night, and we will be back late on Sunday. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Mike.

Middle School – 30 Hour Famine – Friday-Saturday, February 26th-27th, 6 PM-8 AM
We will be fasting for 30 hours while being educated about world poverty and engaging in service projects. Students will also be encouraged to participate in forthcoming service opportunities. Look for more details soon!
