Sleep In Heavenly Peace

At CCC, we believe every child deserves a safe, comfortable place to sleep—and we’re excited to continue our partnership with Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) to help make that a reality. SHP is a national nonprofit with a powerful mission: “No kid sleeps on the floor in our town.” Through local chapters across the U.S., SHP mobilizes volunteers to build, deliver, and assemble beds for children who are currently without one. We’re excited to partner with the local Omaha chapter of SHP to children raised up and extended dignity.

For many of the children who receive these beds, this is the first bed they’ve ever had. Instead of sleeping on the floor, on a couch, or sharing a cramped space, they now have a bed of their own—a place to rest, to feel safe, to be seen. When you help build, deliver, or provide bedding, you’re doing more than meeting a physical need—you’re restoring dignity and offering hope.

In April 2025, CCC volunteers served as a part of a large push to build over 100 beds for kids in our local area—thank you to everyone who participated! Now it’s time for the next powerful step: delivering and setting up those beds in the homes of the families who will use them. This is more than just a task—it’s a hands-on way to love our neighbors and meet a very real need in our city.

Join in for the upcoming opportunity:

• Sunday, June 8 // 1:00–4:30 PM – (plus lunch provided after Gathered Worship)

Volunteers will meet at the SHP Warehouse: 4871 S 136th St

From there, we’ll carpool to homes throughout the community to deliver and assemble the beds.

This is a great way to serve as a family—kids under 18 are welcome to help as long as they are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Space is limited and registration is required, so sign up early to reserve your spot!

Even if you’re unable to join us for one of the delivery days, you can still make a difference. SHP asks that every bed delivered come with brand-new bedding, so kids not only receive a bed frame and mattress—but also a cozy pillow, sheets, and comforter.

That’s where you come in.

We’re collecting twin-size “bed-in-a-bag” sets to pair with the beds CCC will be delivering. You can:

1. Shop from SHP’s Amazon Wish List and have it shipped to your home or directly to the church.
2. Drop off new twin-size bedding sets at CCC anytime before Sunday, June 8.
