WEEK 6 // DAY 4

DRAWN BY LOVE

Read Hosea 11:1-11

God’s leadership is not what many expect. He does not describe Himself as forcing, demanding, or overpowering His people. Instead, He uses the language of tenderness—cords of kindness, ties of love, bending down to care.

This reveals something essential about who God is. He is not interested in controlling you—He desires to draw you. His goal is not compliance but relationship.

And yet, we often relate to God as if He operates through pressure. We assume obedience is driven by fear of consequences rather than trust in His goodness. We imagine Him distant, waiting for us to get things right before drawing near.

But God moves toward His people with compassion. He stoops down and He meets them where they are. He provides what they need. Even in their wandering, He continues to lead with love.

This is fully revealed in Jesus. He does not demand that people climb their way to God—He comes down to them. He eats with sinners. He touches the unclean. He speaks gently to the broken. His authority is real, but it is expressed through compassion.

As we begin to understand this, our response changes. Obedience is no longer about avoiding punishment—it becomes a response to love. You and I follow Jesus not because we have to, but because we trust Him.

When you are making decisions, navigating relationships, or wrestling with temptation, you are not responding to a distant authority—you are responding to a Father who is drawing you close.

Today, pay attention to how God may be leading you—not through pressure, but through kindness. His invitation is not harsh. It is relational. It is meant to lead you home.
