WEEK 6 // DAY 3

WITNESSES NOT PERFORMERS

Read Matthew 28:16-20, Acts 1:8

Jesus does not call His followers to be experts, debaters, or performers. He calls them witnesses. A witness does not manufacture evidence; they share what they have seen and experienced. Mission flows from testimony, not perfection.

Jesus promises power before responsibility. The Holy Spirit empowers His followers to speak, live, and love in ways they could not on their own. This removes pressure. You are not responsible for outcomes—only for faithfulness.

Witnessing often feels intimidating because we assume it requires polished words or persuasive arguments. But Jesus reframes it. Your story matters. How Jesus has met you, forgiven you, sustained you, and shaped you is powerful testimony.

In daily life, witnessing looks natural and relational. It happens through conversations, shared experiences, and quiet faithfulness. It grows from authenticity, not performance.

The Spirit works through ordinary people who are willing to point to Jesus in simple ways. You are invited to trust that God uses faithfulness more than fluency.

Reflection Questions:

  • What does Jesus promise before sending His disciples?
  • Why is the Spirit essential for mission?
  • What has Jesus done in your life that you could share?
  • How does this relieve pressure around evangelism?

Journaling Prompt:

Reflect on how Jesus has worked in your life. Write about one story that reflects His presence.

Prayer Starter:
Holy Spirit, empower me to witness faithfully. Help me trust You as I share my life with others.
