Invited By Jesus – Week 2 Day 5

WEEK 2 // DAY 5
STAYING CLOSE
Read John 1:35-50
The disciples didn’t just visit Jesus briefly—they stay. They spend the day with Him. Curiosity leads to time, and time leads to relationship. Faith deepens not in moments alone, but through lingering presence.
In John 1:39, John points reminds us that following Jesus is not rushed. He invites you to stay, to listen, to observe, and to learn. Spiritual growth often happens slowly, through consistent closeness rather than dramatic experiences.
Staying with Jesus requires intentionality. Life constantly pulls you away—toward productivity, distraction, and noise. Yet Jesus invites you to remain near, trusting that time spent with Him is never wasted.
In daily life, staying close may look simple: prayer, Scripture, silence, or shared meals with others who follow Jesus. These practices are not obligations; they are ways of remaining near the One who invites you.
To come and see is only the beginning. Jesus invites you to stay—and in staying, to be changed.
Reflection Questions:
- What do the disciples do after Jesus invites them to come and see?
- Why is staying with Jesus important for discipleship?
- What pulls your attention away from closeness with Jesus?
- How could you create space to remain near Him this week?
Journaling Prompt:
Reflect on what helps you stay connected to Jesus. Write about small, sustainable practices that draw you closer to Him.
Jesus, thank You for inviting me to stay near You. Help me choose closeness with You each day.
