Insurrection of Worship – Downfall // Week #1 // August 14, 2022
In this kickoff message to our Downfall series, we step into the stories of 1–2 Kings to explore how small compromises can lead to a great collapse—and how God remains faithful even when His people are not. Tracing the big arc of Scripture from Abraham, Moses, and David to Solomon’s reign, we see how Solomon was given incredible wisdom and blessing, yet began his downfall through divided worship, convenience, and subtle disobedience. Rooted in Deuteronomy 30, this message reminds us that God calls His people to wholehearted obedience and dependence, not half-hearted worship or “disordered love.” As we look at Solomon’s life, we’re invited to examine our own concessions and agreements—the little choices that pull our hearts away from God—and to return to full, undivided worship of the One who alone is worthy.
