Unmatched – Week 3 Day 5
WEEK 3 // DAY 5
GRACE UPON GRACE
Read Ephesians 2:1-10
“…so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.” (Ephesians 2:7)
Paul lifts our eyes beyond the present moment to eternity. Why did God save us? So that forever and ever He might display the immeasurable riches of His grace. Salvation isn’t just a past event; it’s an eternal story of God’s kindness toward us in Christ.
Think about this: in the coming ages—ages upon ages—God will never run out of grace to show us. His grace is immeasurable. You will never reach the bottom of it. A billion years into eternity, God will still be pouring out new dimensions of His kindness toward you in Christ.
This means salvation is not just about escaping hell—it’s about entering into an endless ocean of grace. God’s plan is not merely to forgive us, but to lavish His kindness on us forever. And that changes how we live now.
When life feels overwhelming, remember that your story doesn’t end with your struggles. When sin tries to condemn you, remember that God’s kindness will outlast your failures. When you’re tempted to doubt His goodness, remember that His plan is to spend eternity showing you grace upon grace.
This truth also equips us to be people of grace in the present. If God is endlessly gracious toward us, how can we not extend that same grace to others? The gospel not only secures our future—it shapes our present.
Today, fix your heart on eternity. Let the promise of God’s immeasurable grace steady you, encourage you, and move you to reflect His kindness in the world.
Reflection Questions:
- How does the promise of God’s eternal kindness change the way you view salvation?
- Why do you think Paul emphasizes the “immeasurable riches” of God’s grace?
- How could remembering eternity help you endure current challenges?
- In what ways can you reflect God’s kindness to others this week?
Journaling Prompt:
