Summer in the Psalms – Week 9 Day 3
WEEK 9 // DAY 3
LIFE IS BRIEF – LIVE IT WISELY
Psalm 90 doesn’t leave us in poetic abstraction—it drills into soul honesty: life is brief. Moses compares human days to grass that sprouts in the morning and fades by evening. Time is fragile. We assume it’s endless until we lose it in forgotten routines, unspoken words, or squandered moments. Yet time is sacred.
Moses doesn’t use stingy language to depress us—he invites us to treat life like fragile craftsmanship needing wise hands. A day is shorter than we imagine, but in God’s purposes, its value is immeasurable if lived well. When summer drifts to fall and students gear up for new classes, we often feel the months disappear. But Psalm 90 rekindles our awareness: every day matters.
Moses doesn’t aim us at hyper-activity but wise intentionality. It is the difference between living by default and living with divine purpose. We aren’t victims of time—we’re tenants entrusted with each moment. If you pray “God lead my day,” that same day can fruit eternal impact. It could offer compassion, speak truth, witness integrity, or reflect love. A day’s value lies not in accomplishments, but in how it aligns with God’s character. Wisdom isn’t measured in how long you live—but in how wisely you live. Moses gave us a prayer, not for longer days—but for purposeful days.
Today, reflect on urgency mixed with peace, not fear but clarity. Life is short. But God invites you to live wide, bold, and wise within its limits.
