Summer in the Psalms – Week 5 Day 4
WEEK 5 // DAY 4
ENTER WITH THANKSGIVING
“Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise…” – Psalm 100:4
Thanksgiving is the doorway to worship. When we approach God with gratitude, our hearts open up to His presence. Praise isn’t something we do only after we receive—it’s a posture we take before, during, and after everything.
Thankfulness shifts your focus. It moves your eyes off yourself and onto God. It fights entitlement and bitterness. It makes room for joy. That’s why Scripture is filled with calls to give thanks—not because God needs flattery, but because we need freedom.
Jesus gave thanks constantly: before multiplying bread, before raising Lazarus, before going to the cross. Even in suffering, He modeled gratitude. When you thank God, you’re not denying hardship—you’re declaring His faithfulness in the midst of it.
Reflection Questions:
- How does gratitude shape your relationship with God?=
- What’s something you’ve taken for granted that you can thank God for today?
- How does thankfulness shift your perspective in difficulty?
- What would it look like to cultivate a daily practice of thanksgiving?
Journaling Prompt:
Make a list of 10 things you’re thankful for today—big or small. Don’t rush. Let your heart respond with worship.
Offer a prayer filled only with thanksgiving today. Let praise rise from every corner of your life.
