WEEK 6 // DAY 2

RESISTING KNOWN LOVE

Read Hosea 11:1-11

The tragedy of this passage is not ignorance—it is resistance. Israel did not wander because they didn’t know God. They wandered despite knowing Him.

This is what makes rebellion so personal. It is not simply breaking a rule—it is resisting a relationship. God was calling them, pursuing them, reaching out to them. And yet, the more He called, the more they turned away.

This is deeply relatable. You likely know what it is like to sense God nudging you—toward forgiveness, toward trust, toward surrender—and choosing something else instead. You know what it is like to hear truth and delay responding. To feel conviction and decide to deal with it later.

Rebellion often does not feel dramatic. It looks like choosing comfort over obedience. It looks like postponing what God is asking. It looks like structuring your life around everything else while keeping God on the edges.

But here is the hope: God keeps calling.

Jesus embodies this persistent pursuit. He comes not for those who have it all together, but for those who have wandered. He seeks, invites, and calls people back into relationship with the Father.

Your resistance does not end the story. God’s pursuit continues.

Today, pay attention to where God may be calling you—and respond. Not out of guilt, but because His call is an expression of love.
