WEEK 6 // DAY 1

LOVED FROM THE BEGINNING

Read Hosea 11:1-11

God begins not with failure, but with love. Before Israel’s rebellion, before their wandering, before their repeated turning away—God reminds them of something foundational: “I loved you.”

This is how God relates to His people. He does not define them first by what they have done wrong, but by the love He has already given. He remembers the relationship. He remembers rescuing them, carrying them, forming them into a people. His love was not a reaction—it was the starting point.

You need to hear that personally. God’s posture toward you is not built on your recent performance. It is rooted in His initiating love. Long before you drifted, long before you struggled, long before you questioned—God loved you. That means your story does not begin with failure; it begins with grace.

And yet, this verse also points forward. Matthew quotes this line to describe Jesus. Jesus becomes the true Son who fulfills what Israel could not. Where Israel wandered, Jesus remained faithful. Where Israel resisted, Jesus obeyed. Through Him, you are invited not just to observe God’s love, but to be brought into it.

This matters for your daily life because it reshapes how you approach God. You don’t come trying to earn His attention—you come because you already have His love. Even when you feel distant, His heart has not shifted.

Today is an invitation to remember where your story with God actually begins. Not with your effort. Not with your consistency. But with His love.
