WEEK 6 // DAY 2

AS THE FATHER SENT ME

Read Matthew 28:16-20, John 20:21

Jesus defines mission by His own life. He does not simply send His followers with instructions; He sends them with a pattern. “As the Father has sent me,” He says. This means mission is shaped by humility, presence, love, and sacrifice—not force or control.

Jesus was sent into the world not to dominate, but to dwell among people. He listened. He noticed. He loved. He spoke truth with grace. When Jesus sends you, He invites you to carry His posture into your relationships and spaces.

This challenges common misconceptions about mission. Being sent does not mean having all the answers or initiating uncomfortable conversations at every turn. It means representing Jesus’ heart. It means showing up with compassion, patience, and faithfulness.

Mission is relational before it is verbal. Jesus entered people’s lives long before He called them to change. In daily life, this looks like being present with coworkers, neighbors, friends, and family—trusting that God works through relationship over time.

Being sent “as Jesus was sent” also means embracing vulnerability. Jesus stepped into brokenness, rejection, and misunderstanding. Following Him into mission means trusting that love is worth the risk.

Jesus sends you not to pressure people toward belief, but to embody His love in a way that invites trust.

Reflection Questions:

  • How does Jesus describe being sent in John 20:21?
  • What does this reveal about God’s heart for people?
  • How does Jesus’ posture shape how you engage others?
  • Where might God be inviting you to show up with presence?

Journaling Prompt:

Write about how Jesus came to you. Reflect on how that shapes how you are sent to others.

Prayer Starter:
Jesus, send me with Your heart. Help me reflect Your love wherever I go.
