Together In Christ – Week 3 Day 5
WEEK 3 // DAY 5
DEVOTED TO ONE ANOTHER
Read Acts 2:42-47
The summary of Acts 2:42–47 paints a breathtaking picture: “All the believers were together and had everything in common.” They weren’t bound by contracts or convenience, but by covenant. Their devotion to Jesus naturally overflowed into devotion to one another.
They shared their possessions freely. They gave to anyone in need. They worshiped joyfully and lived with glad and sincere hearts. The result? The Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. Their devotion to one another was a living testimony of the gospel’s power.
When we live this way—when generosity, grace, and unity define our relationships—people see Jesus. The early believers didn’t have marketing strategies or perfect programs. What they had was love—a supernatural, Spirit-empowered love that crossed every line of culture, class, and comfort.
To be devoted to one another today means we refuse to live as consumers of church life. Instead, we see ourselves as contributors, family members, and servants. We don’t wait to be loved first; we lead with love because Christ first loved us.
The same Spirit who knit together that first community is still at work today. He’s calling us to live as a people so transformed by grace that our unity becomes a witness to the world.
Reflection Questions:
- What stands out to you about the unity and generosity of the early church?
- What would it look like for your church to reflect that same devotion today?
- How might God be calling you to love and serve others more intentionally?
- What difference would it make if every believer saw themselves as a vital part of the family?
Journaling Prompt:
Write about ways you can live out greater devotion to others in your church this week. Be specific in how you can serve, encourage, or give.
Thank God for the example of the early church. Ask Him to make your community a place of love, generosity, and authentic unity in Christ.
