WEEK 5 // DAY 5

ALIVE TO GOD

Read Romans 6:1-14

“For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.” (Romans 6:14)

Paul ends this section with a bold promise: sin will not have dominion over you. Why? Because you are not under law, but under grace.

This is the heart of transformation. The law shows us our sin, but it cannot free us from it. Grace does what the law never could—it changes us from the inside out.

Think of it like gardening. The law can pull weeds, but it can’t make flowers grow. Grace not only removes the weeds of sin but plants new life that flourishes.

When you belong to Christ, sin doesn’t get the final word. Its grip is broken. Its dominion is ended. You are alive to God. That doesn’t mean life will be easy or temptation won’t come—but it does mean you are no longer powerless.

This truth should fill us with hope. You don’t have to live a shallow, half-hearted Christianity. You don’t have to settle for cycles of guilt and defeat. God has given you grace not only to forgive but to transform.

So live alive today. Breathe in grace. Walk in freedom. Let your life be a testimony that sin is not in charge—Jesus is.

  • Why is it important that Paul ends this passage with a promise of victory over sin?

  • How can this truth give you hope in your daily walk with Christ?
