WEEK 2 // DAY 2

CARRY EACH OTHER’S BURDENS

Read Galatians 6:1-10

Paul’s command is clear: “Carry each other’s burdens.” This is not optional—it is central to life together in Christ. The burdens Paul mentions may be heavy sins, overwhelming trials, or everyday struggles. Whatever their form, they are too heavy for one person to bear alone. In carrying one another’s burdens, Paul says, we “fulfill the law of Christ,” which is love.

Bearing burdens requires intentionality. It means stepping into someone else’s story, sharing their pain, and walking with them at a cost to yourself. This may involve offering time, resources, or emotional support. Sometimes it simply means listening and being present. The heart behind it is love—the kind of love Christ showed when He bore the ultimate burden of our sin on the cross.

Paul also confronts pride: “If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves.” Pride keeps us from bearing burdens, either by convincing us we are too important to help or too strong to need help. But life in Christ dismantles both illusions. None of us are self-sufficient, and none of us are above serving. True community happens when we confess our need and extend ourselves for others.

Think about what would happen if our church fully lived this out. No one would walk alone. We would see suffering shared, hope multiplied, and healing accelerated. The world longs for this kind of love—a community where people are seen, valued, and supported in real, tangible ways.

Today, you may be called to help carry someone else’s burden. Or perhaps you need the humility to invite others into your own struggle. Both are acts of faith. Both display the love of Jesus. Together in Christ, we carry one another, reminding the world that no weight is too heavy when shared in His body.

Reflection Questions:

  • What does it mean to fulfill the law of Christ by bearing burdens?
  • How does pride hinder us from supporting others—or receiving support?
  • Whose burdens can you help carry this week?
  • Where might you need to let others share in your own burdens?

Journaling Prompt:

Write about a burden you are carrying. Reflect on how you can invite others into that space or how you might help someone else bear theirs.

Prayer Starter:
Thank Jesus for carrying your burdens and ask Him to help you faithfully carry the burdens of others.
