Unmatched – Week 2 Day 4
WEEK 2 // DAY 4
BY HIS WOUNDS WE ARE HEALED
Read Isaiah 53:1-6
“By his wounds we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5)
The language of healing runs throughout Scripture. Our greatest need is not just physical but spiritual. Sin has fractured every part of us—our relationship with God, with others, even with ourselves. We are a people in need of deep healing.
Isaiah declares that healing flows from the Servant’s wounds. Peter confirms that this was fulfilled in Christ: “By his wounds you have been healed.” The very things that tore Jesus open—lashes, nails, thorns—are the things that open the way for our restoration. His pain became our healing.
This healing is both immediate and ultimate. Spiritually, the wound of separation from God is healed the moment we trust in Christ. Relationally, we begin to experience reconciliation with others as the gospel transforms us. Physically, we still await full healing—but even here, the cross guarantees that one day every sickness, every disability, every decay will be reversed. The resurrection of Jesus is the down payment of that promise.
When you carry scars—whether from sin, brokenness, or suffering—remember that Christ carries His too. But His scars are not marks of defeat; they are signs of victory. His wounds bring our wholeness. His brokenness makes us whole.
Reflection Questions:
- What areas of your life feel most in need of healing right now?
- How does Christ’s suffering speak into your own experiences of pain?
- What does it mean for you to trust that His wounds are enough to bring you wholeness?
- How does the promise of ultimate healing give you hope in the present?
Journaling Prompt:
Write about where you long to experience Christ’s healing touch and how you sense Him meeting you in that place.
Thank Jesus that His wounds bring your healing; entrust your scars and brokenness to Him and affirm that He is making you whole.
