Summer in the Psalms – Week 8 Day 5
WEEK 8 // DAY 5
THEN I WILL TEACH OTHERS
“Then I will teach transgressors your ways…”
Psalm 51 doesn’t end with personal healing—it leads to public testimony. David recognizes that God’s mercy is not something to hoard. It’s something to share. When we’re forgiven and set free, we can lead others into freedom too.
True repentance leads to mission. It creates worshippers and witnesses. Those who have been rescued become rescuers. Those who’ve tasted mercy invite others to the table. David wants to sing again—not just privately, but loudly. And not for his glory, but for God’s.
Jesus told Peter that once he turned back from his failure, he should strengthen his brothers. (Luke 22:32) That’s our call too. Your story of repentance isn’t a source of shame—it’s a testimony of grace.
Reflection Questions:
- Why do you think God wants to use even our failures for His glory?
- Who in your life needs to hear about God’s mercy?
- How has your own story prepared you to minister to others?
- What keeps you from sharing your experience of God’s grace?
Journaling Prompt:
Write the beginning of your testimony—how God’s mercy has met you and what freedom it’s brought. Consider who you could share it with.
Pray for boldness to share God’s mercy with others. Ask God to use your story to point others to Jesus.
