Summer in the Psalms – Week 6 Day 2
WEEK 6 // DAY 2
HE WILL NOT LET YOUR FOOT BE MOVED
“He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber.” – Psalm 121:3
God is your stability. The hills may tremble, and the path may twist—but your footing in Him is firm. The picture here is not of a life free from obstacles, but of a God who actively steadies you as you walk.
In ancient travel, slipping could be fatal. A turned ankle or a fall off a cliff could end a journey. So this promise—He will not let your foot be moved—would have meant profound peace to a pilgrim. You are held steady by the One who never sleeps.
This reminds us of Jesus’ words in Matthew 7:24–27, where He describes the wise person who builds their life on the rock—His words, His presence. Storms come, but the house stands. The Lord is our immovable foundation.
And He never slumbers. When you’re weary, overwhelmed, or feel like you’re walking alone, remember: God never dozes off. He sees. He knows. He upholds.
Reflection Questions:
- Where do you feel unstable or unsure in life right now?
- How does it change things to know that God is your Keeper and doesn’t sleep?
- What would it look like to build your stability on God rather than your circumstances?
- How does this promise bring comfort in your daily walk?
Journaling Prompt:
Describe the areas in your life that feel uncertain. Then reflect on how God’s presence steadies you, even there.
Thank God that He never slumbers. Ask Him to give you steady footing and peace in your uncertain places.
