Summer in the Psalms – Week 5 Day 3
WEEK 5 // DAY 3
KNOW THAT THE LORD IS GOD
“Know that the Lord, He is God! It is he who made us, and we are his…” – Psalm 100:3
Worship begins with knowing—not just feeling or guessing. It’s grounded in truth: the Lord is God. He made us. We belong to Him. That’s the foundation of our praise.
So much of life tries to distort this truth. We’re told we belong to ourselves, or that our worth comes from what we do. But Psalm 100 reminds us: your value is anchored in your Creator. You’re not random or forgotten. You are made, known, and loved.
Jesus echoes this in John 10 when He says, “I am the good shepherd. I know my sheep and my sheep know me.” (John 10:14) He’s not a distant deity—we are His. And when we know Him, truly know Him, worship becomes our natural response.
Reflection Questions:
- What truth about God do you need to remember today?
- How does knowing that you belong to God change how you see yourself?
- Where have you looked for identity outside of your Creator?
- What helps you grow in your knowledge of who God really is?
Journaling Prompt:
Write a letter to yourself, reminding you of the truth in verse 3: “You are His.” What does that mean today?
Thank God for creating you, knowing you, and calling you His own. Ask Him to deepen your knowledge of who He is.
