Sunday Worship

Current Series: Ephesians
What’s in Your Letter? Paul wrote Ephesians to the young church in Ephesus nearly two thousand years ago! What message does it have for us today as a church and as Christians in the 21st century? The challenge: read Ephesians (it’s only 6 chapters!) and then listen on the coming Sundays for the message – for YOU!

Today’s Scripture: Ephesians 4:1-16

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Taco Tuesday – The next Ladies’ Taco Tuesday Tour is August 21st at 6 pm at Taqueria Los Compadres (108 & Q St). Please reserve your spot by Monday, August 20, with Chris M.

Join MPS and #BeKind!Launches August 24th – In continuing our outreach to our neighbor Ackerman Elementary, we have the opportunity to participate in the #BeKind campaign. The purpose of this campaign is simple – spread kindness! Click here for more information and ways to participate. Evie Madvig will have more information about this upcoming event — CCC is invited to come alongside Ackerman Elementary and MPS in Being Kind!

Back-to-School Supplies for Ackerman – Speaking of being kind, we are gathering school supplies for our friends next door at Ackerman Elementary. Twenty percent of kids at Ackerman are eligible for free and reduced lunch, so the need for assistance is real — right in our back yard. The school is always appreciative of our help each fall to supplement school supplies for students and classrooms.

K4J Back-to-School Supplies – K4J is also asking for additional supplies to kick off their 2018-2019 school year. They are looking for:

  • Kleenex
  • Glue sticks/bottled glue
  • Washable markers (thick tip)
  • Sandwich baggies
  • Lysol wipes
  • Crayons
  • Paper plates

Remember, SCRIP is a great and easy way to buy school supplies and help CCC at the same time!

Ladies’ BreakfastMonday, August 27th, 8:30am – The next Ladies’ Breakfast is at 8:30am on Monday, August 27th at the Village Inn on 180th and Center. All are welcome – see Chris M. for details.

Normal, Natural Pathways WorkshopOctober 13th – Please join us for an upcoming workshop open to the congregation. Every church congregation has a unique “personality” and way of connecting with the culture around them. In this workshop, we will seek to:

  • Identify your church’s unique personality, and the normal ways the Holy Spirit draws people into a life-changing relationship with Jesus in your context
  • Walk the natural faith journey of a person, noting the key moments when the church provides transformative presence and “next steps” in a person’s discipleship
  • Explore key systems of the church that are essential for developing a maturing disciple, and create an action plan to enhance weak or missing system
